It’s been a busy summer for myself and Bumble – making enough stock for all the lovely Fairs we took part in and then keeping up with the orders from some recent Press. The Spotty Dachshund Tea Towels sold out so more are on their way next week, and we will be bringing out a new ‘Garden Wildlife’ tea towel in October and here is a sneeky peek of some of the animals and birds in the design…….

Flossie & Bumble have had a fantastic 1st year – it’s been hectic and daunting but we have loved every minute. One of the best sellers was definitely the Spotty Dachshund Tea Towel.
Getting so much positive feedback after a busy Christmas and with Spring now round the corner, my thoughts turn to expanding the business and coming up with new designs and products. With so many friends and clients getting married, having a baby and even buying their own little dachshund! I wanted to create more items to appeal to them all.
Designing the ‘Dashing Dachshund’ mug was exciting as I have always wanted to create my own pottery, hopefully in the summer I will bring out a vintage floral print too.
Painting initials on or adding fabrics to some of the products means I won’t now make some of the items myself, but will still ‘Flossie it’ – add a personal touch instead, like the Breakfast Trays, which provide useful bespoke commission ideas for wedding presents.
Dates for your shopping diary will come out next month with many wonderful Summer Fairs and unique Pop – Up Sales in and around London.
We hope to see you then!

After spending a week in beautiful Scotland on the island of Lismore, just off Oban, new colour schemes have sprung to mind.
The stunning purple/red heather on the lush green landscape was so captivating, it has inspired the colours of Flossie and Bumble’s new A / W collection.
There will be smart tweeds and checked linens in fun pinks and elegant sage greens. New products will include aprons, dog beds and a few surprises.
Bumble is hard at work modelling for new images for the website whilst Flossie is sewing away with the new designs. It should all be ready before October so watch this space.
There is a fantastic pub on my road, The Sands End, which has kindly agreed to let me have their private room upstairs for a summer sale. I have got together with some of my good friends who have their own companies too as this is a great way to spread the word about smaller businesses and help each other out.
Rebs and Sas started Two Little Tarts a few years ago and it has grown from strength to strength; from pretty cupcakes to imaginative birthday ones to stylish wedding cakes, there is nothing these two gorgeous blonde girls can’t do! www.twolittletarts.co.uk
Andara was created by the lovely Sophie and Tiff, their smart and unique gifts and home wares are hand printed and are made using traditional techniques with the emphasis on beauty, comfort and style. www.andarahome.co.uk
Laura amazingly makes all the beautiful exclusive jewellery herself for Harry Rocks. Her designs add style and glamour to any outfit. www.harryrocks.com
Too Food was started by the lovely dedicated foodie, Sarah Baxter, whose aim is to give you the opportunity to buy the very finest food from around Europe and to accomplish her mission of offering food lovers something special. www.toofood.co.uk
Henry Little is a distinctive quintessentially British children’s brand filled with beautiful chic clothes for your little ones, designed by the creative Henrietta. www.henry-little.com
Some larger fairs charge about £100 just to take a table so we are flying the flag for smaller, more intimate events which are shopper friendly and relaxed. The pub is famous for its fun and charming atmosphere, and fantastic scotch eggs! So fingers crossed, the night goes well.
This has been such a fun project collecting antique books, finding vintage fabrics, such as this Frederick Warne & Company Beatrix Potter one below, and commissioning hand knitted blankets and toys.
I found inspiration from my favourite childhood memories of teddy bear picnics under the blossom tree in the garden, bedtime stories of The Wind in The Willows and Winnie The Pooh, and being surrounded by hand made special treasures.
The items are traditional and nostalgic; products that are made to last. I really hope to provide beautiful and one off products that are tempting to every Mummy out there.

This Is Your Kingdom:
Since the website has gone live, Twitter and Facebook followers have doubled which is great – think it’s going to be a busy year!
After months of hard work I am so thrilled to now have the website up and running for people to buy my home wares and vintage products online.
I wanted to offer something for everyone – a doorstop for someone who has just bought their first house to a little hand knitted toy as a present for a new baby.
Whether you are looking for something for a country cottage or city flat, the Spring / Summer Collection offers both nostalgic prints and timeless designs.
I hope you enjoy browsing through the website as much as I have had making it all!
